Haemangiomas — The conservative approach

  • 16 Accesses

Summary

During the last 16 years the author has observed more than 300 babies and children with haemangiomas of the skin.

The follow-up of many of these children was more than five years, which means that enough time was allowed to control spontaneous regression.

There are several types of haemangiomas. The classification by Beks was used for histological determination.

As has been already well-known for many years, the capillary and cavernous haemangiomas have a great tendency to spontaneous regression. In our material this happened in just over 70% of the cases.

What is needed most for this conservative approach is patience and a good understanding by the parents.
