Definition
A benign or malignant mass of proliferated cells. Normal tissue is growth limited due to feedback controls restricting cell division. Neoplasm cells are less responsive to these restraints and can proliferate to the point where they can cause damage by distorting nutrient flow, disrupting tissue architecture, and damaging surrounding areas.
