Early Life and Educational Background

Dr. Markey earned his B.A. in psychology from California State University, Fullerton, in 1997 and his M.A. in psychology from the University of California, Riverside, in 1999. He received his Ph.D. in social-personality psychology from the University of California, Riverside, in 2002 under the direction on Dr. Daniel Ozer.

Professional Career

Dr. Markey has taught at Villanova University from 2003 to the present. He is currently a professor of psychology and the director of the Interpersonal Research Laboratory at Villanova University. He is the past president of the Society for Interpersonal Theory and Research and served as an associate editor for the Journal of Personality for nearly a decade. Dr. Markey’s research has been presented in over 100 journal articles, conference presentations, and book chapters.
