Early Life and Educational Background

Ackerman was born in Secaucus, New Jersey, on October 25, 1982. In 2004, he earned his B.A. in Psychology from Monmouth University. Later, under the advisement of Deborah A. Kashy and M. Brent Donnellan, Ackerman earned his Ph.D. in Social and Personality Psychology from Michigan State University in 2011.

Professional Career

Ackerman has been a faculty member in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at The University of Texas at Dallas since 2011. He has published 16 peer-reviewed articles in journals such as Assessment, European Journal of Personality, Journal of Personality Assessment, Journal of Family Psychology, and Psychological Science.

Research Interests
