The Journal of the Astronautical Sciences - Continuous Article Publishing (CAP) replaces Online First

We would like to inform our readers that starting with Volume 70 (2023), The Journal of the Astronautical Sciences is changing to continuous article publishing (CAP) mode. CAP is the immediate assignment of articles to issues upon online publication of each article. This means there is no longer an ‘OnlineFirst’ status without a citable volume and page. Instead, accepted articles are directly published with their final volume, issue, and article number.

This workflow reflects the opportunities of the electronic publishing and is no longer restricted with constraints from the print world. Most importantly, it thus prevents delays and confusion about what is the actual publication date and correct citation.

As many other journals, we are replacing continuous pagination of articles throughout a volume with individual article IDs; each article will have an internal pagination beginning with page 1. The bibliographic information shown in the header on the first page of an article will be built as follows:

J. Astronaut. Sci. [volume number], [article citation ID] ([publication year]). [DOI]
