Photothermal Catalytic Materials for Carbon Neutrality Goals

Photocatalysis is one of the very important techniques to solve energy-environmental crisis and to realize carbon neutralization. Solar energy can be widely utilized for photo-chemical and photo-thermal reactions, for example, water splitting, photocatalytic H2O2, photocatalytic pollution degradation, photocatalytic Nitrogen fixation and photocatalytic carbon fixation. Although a big step has been made in the field of photocatalytic techniques, fundamental issues with regard to photocatalysis have still not been clearly understood. This special topic focuses on the following issues: (1) The effective utilization of solar energy; (2) Highly efficient charge separation; (3) Interfacial charge dynamics; (4) The selectivity of photocatalytic products; (5) Application of photocatalysis in biomedicine. These topics cover the most cutting-edge research in the field of photocatalytic reactions. Topics covered include, but are not limited to (1) Photocatalytic water splitting, CO2 reduction, and H2O2 product (2) Photocatalytic Nitrogen fixation and carbon fixation. (3) Photo-thermal catalysis and biological application. (4) Photocatalytic pollution degradation.
