Zusammenfassung
Mit dem inhalierten Rauch einer Zigarette gelangen rund 1 bis 2 mg Nikotin ins Blut. Das Nikotin erreicht innerhalb weniger Sekunden nach der Inhalation das Gehirn. Bei der Verwendung von Schnupf- und Kautabak sowie von Nikotinersatzprodukten wie Nikotinkaugummi gelangt das Nikotin deutlich langsamer ins Blut, erreicht aber letztlich vergleichbar hohe Werte wie beim Rauchen.
