Abstract

A review of literature on mothers who commit filicide (victims one year of age or older) reveals diverse offender characteristics. Several explanations address the lack of commonalities within this category. First, the ages of the children in the filicide category are quite varied and, as a result, the victims’ developmental stages heavily influence case dynamics.
