Œdèmes maculaires

Résumé

L’œdème maculaire constitue une modalité évolutive commune de nombreuses affections intra oculaires et systémiques et comporte en général une atteinte des vaisseaux rétiniens.

L’œdème maculaire est un signe non spécifique de nombreuses affections oculaires telles que rétinopathie diabétique, occlusions vasculaires, complications postopératoires et affections héréditaires. Cet œdème maculaire entraîne une baisse d’acuité visuelle, sans douleur. Cet œdème peut être uni- ou bilatéral, selon l’étiologie. Les symptômes de L’œdème maculaire progressent habituellement relativement lentement. En fonction de diverses étiologies, le début peut cependant apparaître très brutalement. Les différents mécanismes étio-pathogéniques comportent une altération de la barrière hématooculaire, la libération de diverses cytokines et une inflammation notable.
