Résumé

Certains cas cliniques d’œdèmes maculaires sont associés à des affections oculaires (telles qu’une radiothérapie pour mélanome oculaire) et ont un pronostic relativement sévère lié à l’affection primitive elle-même. Au contraire, les oedèmes maculaires survenant après décollement de rétine ou après diverses affections et divers traitements systémiques ou locaux sont habituellement temporaires.

Les oedèmes maculaires associés aux membranes épirétiniennes ou à une traction vitréo-maculaire restent la cause essentielle d’une récupération fonctionnelle relativement limitée.

Dans les autres cas, tels que le vitréoschisis myopique par traction, le délai pour observer une amélioration visuelle significative après chirurgie pourrait être relativement très long.

Enfin, les oedèmes maculaires associés avec des hémangiomes et des macro-anévrismes pourraient être traités s’ils sont symptomatiques, en utilisant les mêmes thérapies habituelles que pour l’oedème maculaire diabétique ou les oedèmes observés dans la dégénérescence maculaire exsudative
