Applications of Intense Positron Beams

  • Chapter
Positron Scattering in Gases

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSB,volume 107))

Abstract

This is a wonderful opportunity for me as a theorist: being allowed or even encouraged to propose difficult experiments at a workshop including experimentalists! And to have some realistic hope that the experiments can actually be performed is a new experience as well. The new techniques for producing intense, energy-resolved and well-collimated beams of low-energy positrons seem so good that I expect to see a period of very rapid advance in providing data to confront the theory.
