Image and Video-Based Artistic Stylisation

Part of the book series: Computational Imaging and Vision ((CIVI,volume 42))

Abstract

One of the original goals of NPR research is to develop rendering techniques that produce images and videos with the appearances of traditional artistic genres such as painting and hatching. In this chapter we review existing research on this topic, with a particular focus on image and video stylization. We will also discuss forms of traditional artistic genres that have been underexplored in the context of NPR, with the hope that this could stimulate future research from the NPR community.
